Privacy Policy

Carriers require your website to have a privacy policy that states you do not sell leads’ phone numbers to 3rd Parties for promotional purposes. Learn more on privacy policy requirements.

Does your privacy policy state you will not share leads’ data?

Your opt-in disclaimers must include a link to your Privacy Policy. Additionally, your Privacy Policy must not allow for sharing or selling of information for promotional or marketing purposes. We recommend including the language "Data will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes." Please note that if you already have similar language under a disclaimer specific to California residents, you must separately include a statement that applies to all states. If you do not yet have a Privacy Policy, your website provider may offer one or you may need to create one.See this guide in our Help Center for more information.

Next Steps
  1. Use our email template to ask your web developer to add information on data sharing to your privacy policy. The carriers are looking for verbiage that states “Data will not be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.”

  2. Return to this page when your privacy policy is updated and adjust your answer accordingly.

Carriers will verify that ALL of the lead forms on your website have opt-in consent language. This is often found as fine print at the bottom of the form as shown in the sample image. Learn more on opt-in requirements.

Required opt-in language
  • Explicit opt-in (e.g. "I agree to be contacted by text...")

  • How to opt-out (e.g. "Reply STOP to unsubscribe.")

  • Link to your company’s Privacy Policy & Terms of Service

  • If phone number is a required field on your form, there must be a check box next to the opt-in language

  • Who  will be sending the messages (e.g. "ABC Realty Inc.")

  • That  fees may apply (e.g. "Msg/data rates may apply.")

  • Message frequency (e.g. "Msg frequency varies.")

Does your opt-in language include ALL required elements?

Do ALL of your contact forms have opt-in language where phone numbers are collected?
